HAPPY belated HALLOWEEN!

Hello Halloweenies

My favorite part of October is Halloween! Its my favorite holiday EVER! The dressing up, candy, trick and treating its all amazing! If halloween town was real I'd move in a minute.

College during Halloween was a fun time this year a few people dressed up other in their normal attire. I on the other hand rocked my usual school costume during Halloween which is a shirt that says costume... I basically won any Halloween costume contest out there.

I said in a past post that my church was doing this haunted theater and it was a success! I wish I took pictures of the set :( but me and the amazing team of leaders were so focus on setting up and making the scenery brilliant. The stage area looked like a haunted theater with spider webs, candles and more spider webs! All the leaders dressed as ghost/zombies it was great we scared of few kids here and there. For the movie we made a 4D experience meaning not only are you watching it your feeling it; leaders would grab legs, flicker flashlights and throw water again, brilliant.

The moon was out and girls and guys were going half naked as their costumes. I think every year clothes become more of an opinion then a attire. This year was my 2nd annual The Grove Halloween experience with my best friend Melissa and her sister and it was a blast! Walking around looking at all the costumes and people were great; made new friends and my biggest dream came true! I met some gorgeous firefighters <3 I dressed as a firefighter this Halloween so I had to find myself some firefighters too, thank God I did. All in all this Halloween was a success surrounded by great friends and family and just enjoyed myself!

Running for a Colorful Cure

2 runs, 2 days, 2 early mornings.

This weekend was very eventful and colorful.

Saturday was the breast cancer run/walk at Bayfront park and it was amazing! Survivors, women, men, children, family and friends all walking (and decked out in pink) for one cause. When I was in 4th grade I found out my grandmother had breast cancer for the 1st time, it was hard to process but she is the strongest woman I know. She has fought cancer 3 times and she has beat it every time! Cancer-0 Abuela-3. Finishing that race was emotional because knowing all that I walked can help other grandmas, moms, daughters, women fight this cancer and WIN!

"The Strongest Woman I Know."

Sunday morning, a time to wake up get dressed and get splattered with paint?
The next day after the breast cancer run it was time for the happiest 5k ever, The Color Run. Knee high socks, tutus and tattoos on faces was the dress attire for me and 5 amazing colorful women who went off to Key Biscayne to run the happiest race ever! After doing the wave, dancing The Cupid Shuffle and take a million pictures it was our turn to run and I have to say I've never been so excited to start a race in my life. Passing yellow, orange, blue and pink we couldn't even recognize ourselves towards the end! After the after race rave, more color splatting and even more pictures our colorful morning came to an end but the memories will last a lifetime!

YOLO And A Summer Bliss

Well hello again its been awhile hasn't it. School 6 days a week, work 3-4 days a week and church 3 days a week I'm a tad busy, but I'm baaaaaaack.

As usual I'll start writing something and then I think of something better to write... good job Katerina.

Enjoy life.
Over the summer I met this guy, Gianfranco (cool name I know) who was/is brilliant is the best way I could describe him. He taught me one of the best things anybody can teach someone, how to look at life with a different prospective. Everyone is in the state of "YOLO" unfortunately (thanks Drake and Lil' Wayne) but do we really know what YOLO stands for like the back meaning of it?
Gianfranco had this thing that when we would hang out I would see him take out his phone or get pen and paper and start writing till all his ideas, thoughts and experiences were out. I was curious as usual so I would asked why he did that and he replied, "To always remember amazing moments and ideas." I thought that was great, write your moments down so the memories could last even longer.
He taught me to cherish life truly, never take it for granted and live it with your whole heart. Death is bound to happen so take advantage of the days you have so Katerina came up with little phrases to live by...
Smile more, laugh louder, dance with no music, be with your friends and family and tell them you love them, trust God while your down on earth, travel EVERYWHERE, be happy even when you think there is nothing you can possibly be happy for because I promise you there is something to be happy about.
Life is made up of small, incredible moments but sometimes we're moving so fast we don't have the time to enjoy and appreciate them.

Last Saturday Night.

What happened Saturday...

Ok, it wasn't one of those nights but it was one to laugh about in a few years.

My pastors daughter, Natalia, birthday was saturday afternoon and I was going to go for a bit then head home... Well it didn't turn out that way.
SHE HAD A BOUNCY HOUSE!
I'm 19 but when you put a bouncy house in front of me I turn 9. While I'm jumping my cares away with one of my friends I just here "NOW!" and wonderful cold water started to shower me. As I'm exiting the house of bounce my first thoughts, revenge. Of course I knew it was my pastor so I told one of the moms who don't look suspicious at all to dump ICE cold water on him, then... hell broke loose. Water, milk, flour and ashes of fireworks were on me after a few minutes of brawl but no worries payback is sweet.

This was the best picture I could find, I look lovely guys basically flock to me

"Revenge"

Live from Miami its Saturday night!
After a 2 hour shower and an hour and half of filming it was movie time with one of my best friends. Movie of choice? Pitch Perfect and let me tell you I thought it was hilarious I was singing and cracking up the whole time! But rewind a few hours before the movie starts.
Heading to the movies this cop is going high speed apparently getting to an accident, almost hitting us while he was making a left. Avoiding the accident with cop we continue to drive and I see cop lights behind us. The same cop serves in front of us and starts screaming at us of how we need to yield to cops driving. Yo yo yo I understand that but you need to learn how to yield to innocent drivers before you hit them, pshh bro. Finally after the shock of what just happened we found parking and started heading to get out tickets. Waiting in line to get some food (#fatgirlproblems) these two 8 year olds turn around and apparently the more confident one says "what movies are you ladies seeing?" Of course I would be hit on by a pre-teen and not a college guy whatever. After answering, yes we answered with confused and shocked faces, he followed with this question, "Where did you guys hear about that movie?"
Seriously, where did I hear about that movie!? Oh I don't know a sandwich told me. While all of this embarrassment was happening 3 very very attractive guys were standing a row next to us, really my luck.
All in all I thought my saturday was great filled with laughter and some great people.

Yup that is it...

Jesus, DIY and Horror Films... OH MY!

Hellooooo
Today was a great day! "Why Katerina?" well I'll tell you.

I woke extremely early today to get ready to help my favorite pastor at a schools spiritual emphasis week and it was amazing. I MC'd the game which was always fun and the kids really got into the message which is what we aim for! I love going to school assemblies to talk to kids and teens about what they're going through and try to help them out or just to be there to talk to some of them is also up lifting. I now know why my pastor loves to work with the youth.

$48 for a shirt... aaaaahhhh heeeelllllll naaaaahhhh!
I swear I'm a shopaholic I admit it, its true and I'm proud! I love clothes so much I will seriously not eat for weeks and mooch of my friends and family so I can have enough money for clothes... I have a sick problem. The other day I was looking at some fashion pictures on Instagram and a lot of those pictures had the cut out skull in the back of a shirt and then I saw the price. Then I told myself, Kat your creative you got this and the skull shirt was born!! It really wasn't that hard it takes about 30-45 minutes and it came out really cute (:

BOO!
You know I've never seen a scary movie before... so what possessed to be in one? Last year at church they played a low budget horror film (everyone was laughing while I was crying of fear... yo no lie) so me and a few other leaders of my church decided to do our own film. Honestly I was clenching to my friend Luis's arm the entire time, legit freaked out and I knew the people filming and I knew the killer! -_- From what I saw tonight the movie is going to come out awesome!! When its finished and uploaded ill post here so you can see it!
Random fact: My favorite holiday is halloween but I don't like being scared and I've never seen a scary movie.

There was about 300 kids! It was awesome to see them get really into what PD was saying

Can We Play A Different Game?

PRE-WARNING!
I write a lot today but there is a lot on my mind.

I have 2 stories to share; ones me venting and the other was something that just occurred that I thought was horrible.

Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, girl and boy start talking, boy and girl have a good relationship... through text message and thats it.
Not the ending you were expecting right, ME EITHER!
Now a days having a relationship through your phone is the way you start to get to know your future mate and some just keep it like that for the entire relationship! Call me old fashion but when you like someone you want to take them out and be with them under no circumstances right? Don't make excuses about your car, the weather or your parents... no. There was a saying I saw that stated "Ignore a girl and she will chase you, ignore a women and she will replace you." AMEN! I'm done with that chasing stage, I'm done with the excuses I hear, I'm done just waiting like a lost puppy. You want me come and get me.

I'm a youth leader at my church and the one thing I tell all the students is that if they ever need me they can call me no matter what the time is and that statement was tested tonight.
Love. For some people they don't believe or trust it, others state they have no time for it and sometimes people say they're in love when really they're in lust. How about if your genuinely in love and someone tells you to stay away from that person and you can never see them again, what would you do or say? When you truly love someone take that and run because in todays world thats hard to find. This student called saying they are not allowed to see their love any longer because of the other persons parents. That shocked me. Why would you want to break apart young love? I feel you don't know what love is if your trying tear it apart for someone else.
That just got me thinking about what the world is coming to how crazy it is to see that people treat love like its a game. People get played and mostly people loose when your playing a love game, I don't want to play that game. I think we should start to learn how to love more. Everyone is focus on money, jobs and personal things how about if we start loving rather than judging, loving rather than hating, loving rather than cheating.

CHALLENGE!
Try loving more this week, not like bedroom loving, just show someone your version of a loving heart and report back!!

I'm Voting for the Unicorn party.

"I'm Barrack Obama and I approve this message."
"I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this message."
"I'm Katerina Perez and I like food."

This will be short and to the point.

Election time is here ladies and gentlemen and I'm not excited. If your a big political person or just enjoy politics, high five, because I don't... like no.
Because I'm old enough to vote my mom and dad are emailing, talking, texting me all about this year presidential elections and also having mini panic attacks when I tell them that I don't care or I'm not voting (yes, I'm not voting no, I don't care what you have to say :] ). Honestly, I try to avoid the topic completely. Politics never interested me and I understand that its good to know about it and I'm an american citizen its my job to vote (said in a deep voice) and blah blah blah but its also my job to have the freedom of not wanting to do what I don't want to do. So while everyone is bashing one another and just hating each other because of political difference I'll be at home, eating yogurt or chicken nuggets. Enjoy voting!

This is my "go to" face. I find it quite affective.

"No, please tell me more"

How Chicken Noodle Soup Changed My Life

FINALLY!
The fart in my brain squeezed out and I finally figured out how to get a new back-round, different colors themes, and a new font... 1 point me 3 points blog.

"Stay the way you are because you don't take shit from anybody." - Rey Perez
                                                                 that'd be my dad^^
The other night at dinner my dad casually stated this comment at the restaurant loud enough so people can hear it, ok well he didn't declare it but the tables around us did hear it. Rather then turning red, saying deuces and dipping it actually changed my way of thinking.
I never really thought of myself as the person who "doesn't take shit from anybody" in reality I did care what people thought and said about me, to a point. When my dad said that it kept playing over and over in my mind not only did my dad say shit to describe me, he changed my way of thinking completely over a bowl a chicken soup. Since then, I've taken what he said and ran with it and honestly it feels good not caring what other people say or think about me its actually relieving like weight lifted off my shoulders. After 19 years I finally came to that realization over a bowl of chicken soup... and my dad saying shit to describe me (still can't get over that!)

CHALLENGE!
Try my dads advise for a week, for you non dare devils a day, and see how life gets easier and report back I would love to hear whats happened in your life (:

I went running yesterday and the sky looked liked this... yea.

Truth or Dare...

Sorry I've been MIA for a bit school and work were consuming me the last week  buuuut I'm back, if any body does really read this...

Truth or Dare.

I took the dare this last wednesday and spoke to a bunch of college students, high school and middle schoolers basically about my life. Why? Honestly, I wanted people to hear a story that went from good to great and how this guy named Jesus can change anybodies life for the better. Everyone has a story some keep it in for no one to discover, while others take the dare and share it. If you had the chance what would you do?

Some truths about your writer:
* I'm a procrastinator (I'm actually procrastinating right now)
* I currently can't breathe through my nose
* At this moment I'm listening to smooth jazz *snapping fingers*
* I failed 2 math classes but bribed the teacher to let me pass
* I love writing but I have horrible spelling and grammar skills
* Seriously, I have no idea how to work this blog I'm basically winging it (if you would like to help that'd be great)

If you have any truths or dares for me comment below or Tweet me @katerinaaaperez

Fun stuff!

On Saturday was my good friends Yaz's birthday and we went a little carried away with the infamous "duck face"

These are 2 of my really good guy friends and these are the faces that happen when I asked them to hold my phone I call this photo...

  "Noooo man"

Hope your having a good week! as always

Change of Plans.

I was going to write about how my day went from bad to good to bad to good all in a matter of 5 hours but I thought about it and decided to go a bit deeper...

"In discipline there's freedom." -Pablo Carals

Can you be disciplined but yet have freedom?

This was the discussion question today in my creative writing class and there were multiple answer given:

"If your disciplined you don't really have freedom... but if you have enough discipline about something your free to do what please... Well, if your a person, for example, who plays any instrument you need to be disciplined and once you know the basics your free to play whatsoever."

My opinion? I honestly don't know, maybe both. If you have the basics of something and know how to do it well you have the freedom to move around but aren't there still restrictions?
You and me live in a world today were freedom is hard to have and discipline is hard to give so where do we stand?

Thoughts? I'd like to hear (: I don't bite... Hard.

Never forgotten. September 11, 2001 I was in third grade, I was wearing a light blue polo and a khaki skort and my teacher was about to put on a movie when one by one all the kids started getting picked up by there parents. I remember my mom getting me and brother with tears in her eyes trying to get home as fast as possible. Finally when we got home she dropped everything and put on the news.

"At 8:46am a plane was high jacked and crashed into one of the twin towers here is some live footage now.. WAIT! THERES ANOTHER PLANE! ITS AIMING RIGHT TOWARD THE OTHER TOWER!..."

It was a hard day not only to NYC but for America, but somehow in the darkest hour America was getting closer to one another.
My prayers go out to the victims family, for the regular people who became heroes, NYPD, troops, firefighters. Never forgotten even after 11 years.

My name is Katerina. Not Katrina, Katherine, Karina... Katerina. Its Russian if you were wondering.

Well, I'm a 19 year old college student with a part time job, a '93 Acura Integra and a curfew.
Want to know more? Well...I'm 90% sarcastic and 10% charming, I love the color blue, Christian and proud, Cuban Spanish and Italian, family, friends, fashion, beach beach and more beach, food (especially pasta, chicken nuggets and yogurt), I take pictures of everything, smiling always because even though there are days I don't feel like it there is a reason to smile, laughing, music is an every moment necessity (except country), I like meeting new people, I played the clarinet and tenor saxophone, I've traveled quite a lot but hey wanderlust, I enjoy adventures, I don't have the best luck with guys but I hear my dog has a thing for me, I talk... a lot.
